Les lignes de cette région sont éxtrèmement chargé avec des trains de marchandises pour le transport des Phophates et d'autres minerais, qui jouent un rôle très important dans l'économie Tunisienne.  En outre il-y-a sur le tronçon Metlaoui - Selja le seul train déstiné exclusivement au tourisme. Le "Lézard Rouge" est composé de voitures originales du train beylical (du Bey de Tunis), renovés dans le style d'origine.
Diese Strecken sind sehr stark ausgelastet durch die vielen Güterzüge für den Transport von Phosphat und anderen Mineralien, welche in der tunesischen Wirtschaft eine sehr wichtige Rolle spielen. Dazu verkehr zwischen Metlaoui und Selja der einzige rein touristische Zug. Der "Lézard Rouge" (Rote Eidechse) wird aus den Wagen des ehemaligen Zuges des Bey (Fürst) von Tunis gebildet. Die Wagen wurden vorbildlich renoviert und entsprechen dem original Aussehen.
This lines are very heavily used by the many freight trains transporting phosphates and other mineral products, which are very important in the Tunisian economy. Furthermore there is the only purely touristic oriented train running between Metlaoui and Selja stations. This train, called "Red Lizard" is built-up from the original coaches of the Train of the Bey (Earl) of Tunis. The coaches have been well refurbished maintaining perfectly their original appearance.

Des formations rocheuses imposantes forment la Gorge de Selja. Dans le cas de pluies fortes dans les montagnes le petit ruisseau peut devenir un torrent qui atteint plusieurs mètres d'hauteur, qui détruit tout sur sont chemin.
Diese gewaltigen Felsen bilden die Selja-Schlucht. Wenn es mal stark regnet in den Bergen wird das kleine Bächlein zum reissenden Strom von mehreren Metern Höhe, der alles unterwegs zerstört.
This big rocks are forming the Selja Canyon. In the event of strong rainfall in the mountains the very small watercourse becames a serveral metres deep waterstream destroying all on its way.
