Die Linie
Seit der Stillegung der Linie Fondouk Jedid - Soliman - Henchir Lebna - El Oudiane im Jahre 1959, ist die Linie Bir Bou Regba - Nabeul die einzige Eisenbahn, welche ein kleines Stück der Halbinsel Cap Bon erschliesst. Die Strecke verbindet die beiden, touristisch sehr wichtigen Städte Nabeul und Hammamet miteinander und binden diese sehr gutan die Hauptachse Tunis - Sousse - Sfax an. Der Bahnhof Bir Bou Regba wurde im Zuge des Doppelspurausbaues der Nord-Süd Linie in den 1990er Jahren komplett neu gebaut und die Strecke nach Nabeul erhielt eine bessere Einbindung in diesen Bahnhof. In einem grossen Bogen führt die Strecke von Bir Bou Regba nach nur 4 km in den Bahnhof Hammamet, dem wohl traditionellsten Ferienort an der tunesischen Küste, mit schöner Altstadt (Médina), Hotels, Badestrand und einem gepflegten kleinen Bahnhof. Vorbei an Zitrusplantagen und Pimentfeldern , beides bekannte Produkte der Region geht es nach Nabeul, einem ebenfalls wichtigen Urlaubsort mit langem Sandstrand und wöchentlichem Markt. Der Nadelbaum hinter dem Bahnhof ist das Wahrzeichen des Ortes, er wächst in einem riesigem Topf, denn Nabeul ist auch eine Stadt der Töpfer.    
La Ligne
Depuis la fermeture de la ligne Fondoul Jedid - Soliman - Henchir Lebna - El Oudiane en 1959, la ligne de Bir Bou Regba à Nabeul est restée la seule à en desservir au moins un petit coin de la presqu'isle nommé Cap Bon. La ligne relie les deux pôles touristiques entre eux et avec la ligne principale Tunis - Sousse - Sfax. Pendant la reconstruction de la linge principale Tunis - Sfax pendant les années 1990 et la construction de la deuxième voie, la gare de Bir Bou Regba a été complètement reconstruite, donnant un meilleur accès à la ligne vers Nabeul. Par une longue courbe continue la ligne mêne vers Hammamet, le centre touristique le plus traditionel sur la côte tunisienne. Avec sa ville médievale (la Médina), ses hôtels et ses plages et une petite gare très bien maintenue, Hammamet reste très attractif pour les touristes. En passant par des orangeraies et des plantations de piments, les deux produits les plus connus du Cap Bon, la ligne mêne à Nabeul, un autre centre d'activitées touristiques, avec des plages au sable blanc et un marché hebdomadaire. Le pin près de la gare et le symbol de la ville, il pousse dans un pot géant, car Nabeul est aussi un centre de la potterie traditionelle tunsienne.
The Line
Since closure in 1959 of the railway Fondouk Jedid - Soliman - Henchir Lebna - El Oudiane, the Bir Bou Regba - Nabeuil line is the only railway reaching almost a small portion of the Cap Bon region of Tunisia. The ligne desserves two of the most important touristic centres of the country and gives them a connection to the important Tunis - Sousse - Sfax railway. During reconstruction and doubling of the Tunis - Sfax line in the 1990's Bir Bou Regba got a completely new station withn a better connection of the Nabeul branch into the main line. The line swings in a large curve out of Bir Bou Regba and reaches after 4 km Hammamet station. Hammamet is the most traditional tourism place on the Tunisian coast, with an old city (Médina), many Hotels, a long beach and a wonderfully maintained railway station this place is still worth a visit or a stay. Further East the railway traverses Orange groves and piment plantations, two very traditional crops of the Cap Bon region. At the end of the line Nabeul station is reached. This is also an important touristic centre with long sandy beaches and a weekly market. The pine tree behind the station is growing in an enormous pot and is the sign of the city because Nabeul is traditionally a pottery-makers place.
